CHEAD members host a number of exciting exhibitions. Often small in scale, the exhibitions tend not to travel to other locations. Similarly, interested individuals from outside the hosting institution may not be aware of the gallery. As a consequence, frequently the exhibitions may not receive the exposure that their generally high quality warrants. For its members CHEAD is currently developing a network of galleries to provide a forum for exchange for key gallery staff and to provide greater exposure to the galleries and their exhibitions.
CHEAD supports efforts to establish and strengthen a research infrastructure in art and design. As part of this we will develop a network of research supervisors. The objective of the network will be a) to create a register of research supervisors in art and design and b) to provide a forum for exchange and mentoring for supervisors.
SPECIALIST PRACTITIONERS' NETWORKS
CHEAD is exploring further networks for colleagues in key policy areas. Such networks would be closely tied to strategic developments and will be developed in close co-operation with CHEAD membership.
